Optometrist
Duties and Responsibilities:
They treat vision problems and they diagnose the problems with the vision, they also give the patient eyeglasses, contact lenses, or vision therapy. Some optometrists specialize in industrial vision safety and give treatment for people with vision related learning disabilities. Unlike the ophthalmologist they are not physicians and may not write medical prescriptions, Most Optometrists are self employed, however other work in hospitals, government agencies, optical manufacturers, or universities.

Educational Requirements:
In order to become an optometrist they need to take the most challenging high school courses in AP or IB that are available in Math, Science, and English. Before being able to actually go to a school that specializes in this field you need at least two years of college, the school that specializes in this field can last up to four years and they need to pass the state exam before starting to practice in this field.
